Hue interface : GetLightState error 'connect ETIMEDOUT'

Hi,

My bridge is visible in the Edge Server, as well as the lights created as blank objects. I added a target to one, restarted the Edge Server, and I can see the nodes on the interface to control the on/off state and brightness.

But my log is filled with : ‘GetLightState HTTP error’ 'connect ETIMEDOUT ip adress of my Hue Bridge

And obviously, my light is not responding to my commands on the Spatial Toolbox app.

Any idea of what could be causing my Bridge not to respond ? Log below. Timing out messages start a minute or so after the edge server is started. Any pointers greatly appreciated

My guess based on the error message is that the interface might be overwhelming the hub with too many requests at a time. I haven’t had enough time yet to rewrite that part of the interface.

If you could, can you go into your addons/vuforia-spatial-basic-interfaces-addon directory and edit this line: https://github.com/ptcrealitylab/vuforia-spatial-basic-interfaces-addon/blob/b495f73ec599e71f0b9ef7a30fe9f4c84c29052d/interfaces/philipsHue/index.js#L414 to poll less often? i.e. something like

            setInterval(function (light) {
                getLightState(light, server.write);
            }, 10000 + Math.random() * 10000, lights[key]);

That was it Now it works like a charm !

I suspected it was probably the bridge becoming overwhelm cause I couldn’t detect the bridge in the Hue apps while the server was running. Thanks !
